Elsevier/Bibliometrics

Working with Elsevier, Northwestern University is a pioneer in the development and implementation of knowledge map technology.  SOFI will partner with Elsevier SciVal and Northwestern Scholars (scholars.northwestern.edu) to develop an expert networking tool within the Knowledge Map. SOFI Member researchers across all institutions will be added to the network, connecting their publication and patent data to other SOFI knowledge assets.  By making research output and performance, as well as funding data, more visible, the SOFI Management Team can:

• Guide SOFI’s overall strategic direction
  
• Assess SOFI’s status relative to other science consortia
  
• Identify appropriate talent and funding resources
  
• Promote collaboration within and across TWGs
  
• Measure researcher and team performance
